Recession Denim, as it name makes plain, was born amidst the economic chaos of September 2008. Creator Daniella Siri set out to establish a premium-quality denim brand that would be versatile, classic, timeless, sexy and yet affordable.
Our story begins in Daniella’s New York City apartment. While packing for a weekend getaway she inevitably crammed in 3 separate pairs of jeans: “You never know what to expect” after all. Weighed down by her obviously oversized weekend travel bag, Daniella decided then and there to create the one perfect pair of jeans that could go anywhere, at any time and with anything - and offer them to the world at an affordable price. And that is just what she did.
Each pair of Recession Denim is made with the mindset, “we’re in a recession thus the only jeans we need are the ones that always look great and will last a lifetime,” says Daniella. Never one to compromise on quality, Daniella works with premium quality denim that ages gracefully to ensure endless wear.
At this moment, Daniella and the Recession brand team work hard to keep this vision alive. They pay close attention to fit to ensure each pair molds the body, yet is super comfortable. It is, after all, in their best interest to provide citizens with a product of rare value in a time when quality and affordability are not easy to come by.
