Quotes

  • "I want to create a 21st Century Lifestyle brand for contemporary and conscious people."
  • "I try to avoid to visit shops or to do too much vintage shopping. I would rather meditate and try to feel what I want to wear myself. The whole idea is to create things that no one has done before."
  • "We are like a rock band. Even if I am the lead singer, we have fantastic musicians."
  • "I love to draw great talents together. The whole idea of JL is to create an environment, where people can use their full potential. I have a lot of people surrounding me who have at an earlier stage in their career just used 30-40% of their creativity. If I can create a natural environment where the JL people can be themselves and use at least 85-90 % of their own talent - it gets incredibly strong."
  • "In the beginning JL obviously reflected my personal lifestyle, now all the people around me add to the movement. I want to prove that you don't have to be a small company to do business with passion and creativity."
  • "Instead of protesting, I want to inspire."
  • "When I started JL I worked hard to really feel what I wanted to do. I meditated and tried to understand what my true intuition was. I wanted to create a brand that had a full presence in contemporary fashion as well as the sports world. Seeking to move classic sports fashion to a 21st Century level, I chose to challenge and inspire golf and ski apparel to a new level; the choice of these two activities as a platform for my mission being a reflection of two of my keenest interests. At the same time, I also wanted to create a strong personal impression in contemporary fashion. As a result, in '97, I started with golf and fashion. I believe this approach was probably very odd to a lot of people."
  • "I just kept doing what my intuition said. The golfers did not understand fashion and the fashion people did not understand why JL did golf clothing. I even had to have two different websites in the beginning since the two worlds were so far apart."
  • "Today J.Lindeberg and our lifestyle is easier to understand. The golfers start to really appreciate fashion and the fashion people start to love golf. The vision I have been pushing is coming together in a natural way."
